For some Porsche owners, the second-best thing to owning an actual Porsche is collecting Porsche model and toy cars. If you’re looking to start your own collection or add to an existing collection, you’ve come to the right place. Like our Hot Wheels buyer’s guide, this article covers what we’ve found to be the best Porsche model cars, toys, and collectibles available online. It’s also a great place to find a gift idea for that Porsche enthusiast in your life.
Below, you’ll find our picks for the best Porsche model cars, remote control cars, and other collectibles we’ve come across while shopping online. Since we aren’t fortunate enough to own every single one of these items, we made our picks based on user reviews and previous experiences with a brand, if applicable. You also won’t find any LEGO sets on this list — for that, check out our best Porsche LEGO sets article.
If you decide to purchase any of these products and they turn out to be unworthy of our list, please let us know in the comments!
1. Porsche model cars
Maisto 1:18-scale 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
There are numerous Porsche model cars to choose from, some officially licensed, while others are not — or at least doesn’t clearly say they are. This one however is an official licensed product by Maisto, and it’s a 1:18-scale version of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 in white. On this model car, the hood, doors, and back engine cover can all be opened for display.
Tamiya 1:24-scale 1988 Porsche Turbo
Nothing beats the look of a classic Porsche 911, and if you enjoy building model cars, here’s a recommendation for you. It comes from Tamiya, one of the most well-known companies for car model kits. What’s nice about these kits is that you’ll not only put it together, but you’ll get to paint it whatever color you like. It also gives you the ability to customize accents and other parts of the body to your liking. I’ve built a few Tamiya kits in the past and their quality were impressive, especially for the price. If you want a fun, DIY project, you can’t go wrong with a model kit from Tamiya.

Official Porsche model cars
You can shop Porsche’s official lineup of model cars, but these don’t come cheap. In fact, if you’re looking for a gift that’s $50 or under, don’t even bother looking at Porsche’s official model cars — the most affordable model cars at the time of writing is $79 for a Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo or Macan Turbo. But if you want the official product from the German automaker with detailed quality you likely won’t find elsewhere, it’s the way to go.
2. Remote control Porsche cars
BEZGAR 1:24-scale Porsche Cayenne Turbo
Model cars are designed to be put on display, while remote control cars are meant to be played with. It doesn’t matter how old you are, RC cars are always entertaining, even if it’s just for a few minutes. There are a few Porsche RC cars out there and here are a few of the favorites we found, starting with this Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It’s a 1:24-scale RC car sporting a bright yellow finish and it is an official licensed product. Given its price, the controls are pretty basic with your standard forward, backward, left, and right turns.
Constructed from ABS plastic, you shouldn’t have to worry about damaging it too badly. The remote control operates on a 2.4GHz and provides up to about 80 feet of range. This RC car can reach up to about 4 mph. You will need a total of five AA batteries (not included) — three for the car, and two for the remote.
Rastar 1:14-scale Porsche 918 Spyder
The Porsche 918 Spyder was revolutionary when the production model was first unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Nearly a decade later, technology from this hybrid hypercar has arguably influenced numerous electrified cars on today’s roadways. The 918 Spyder went on to become the first street-legal production car to break the seven-minute barrier at the Nurburgring and has become a modern collectible.
Since most of us will never get close to owning an actual 918 Spyder, this might be the next best thing. This 1:14-scale RC version comes from Rastar and is an official licensed product. Measuring 12.1″ by 6.2″ by 3.15″, it’s made from safe ABS plastic and comes with a stylish black and red finish. The LED headlights and tail lights actually work, along with the four-wheel independent suspension system. With this RC car, you’ll be able to go about 5 to 6 mph, with controls for going forward, backward, and turning left and right. It operates at 2.4GHz and is good for up to about 98 feet.
Batteries are not included, so you’ll have to get five AA batteries for the RC car and a 9v for the remote.

Sharper Image 1:20-scale Porsche Taycan Turbo S
Porsche’s Taycan EV is the best EV I’ve ever had the opportunity to drive, so we imagine this Taycan RC car is also plenty of fun. It’s from Sharper Image and is a 1:20-scale version of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. And since it is a mini EV in a way, it comes with a USB-C charging station to mimic the real thing. That does mean the RC car itself is equipped with a rechargeable 600mAh battery, so you’ll only need to get a pair of AAA batteries (not included) for the 2.4 GHz remote.
You should be able to get about 90 minutes of play time off a single charge, and this RC Taycan can reach speeds up to 7 mph. Functional LED headlights and tail lights are a nice touch as well.

3. Toy Cars and collectibles
Playmobil Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7
Our final set of recommendations revolve around toy cars and collectibles, and we expect to grow this list in the months to come as we find more products worth buying. For now, these will mainly focus on toy cars that are meant to be played with, but aren’t RC cars. We’ll start with this Playmobil Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, a 39-piece set that includes a Porsche 911 Carrera RS info card that highlights the iconic car’s specifications. We particularly like that Playmobil put the recommended age range at 5 to 99 years!
The toy car has a removable roof so you can take a look at the interior, while the rear of the car houses the motor and you can take a look at it by opening the trunk. It comes with a couple figurines and some accessories for a picnic scene.

If you don’t see anything you like from our recommendations, make sure to check out all the various Porsche Hot Wheels that are available online.
We start off with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS from the Deutschland Design series.

Hot Wheels Porsche 918 Spyder
Our next recommendation is yet another Porsche 918 Spyder toy, this time in Hot Wheels form. This particular version is from the 2019 HW Roadsters series and comes with a black and red paint scheme, similar to our RC car recommendation.

Hot Wheels Porsche 944 Turbo
Our final Hot Wheels recommendation is a 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo from the HW Turbo series. This is a Magnus Walker edition Porsche 944 Turbo, sporting a stylish silver and blue finish. There are several different 944 Turbo Hot Wheels, so check around if this particular style doesn’t fit your tastes.
