Russia’s Frozen Lake Baikal Is An Epic Backdrop For Porsche’s Newest Adventure #PlugIntoSiberia

For the next 12 days a group of 12 journalists will travel a total of 7000 kilometers across Siberia from Irkutsk (near Russia’s Lake Baikal) to Ekaterinburg (in the Ural Mountains) on a trip known as “Plug Into Siberia”. The average temperatures in Siberia during the coming weeks will hover at around minus 20 degrees. This is permafrost country and the landscape is covered in snow.

The twelve day route will take them to Novosibirsk, Tobolsk and UNESCO world heritage sites such as the Stolby Nature Sanctuary. All will travel on board Cayenne S E-Hybrids and Panamera S E-Hybrids to discover how the plug-in hybrid cars from Porsche handle in ice and snow.

From what we can see, the pictures you see above and below (posted today to Porsche’s facebook page) were shot over the past few weeks by a Russian crew called Cross Production. One of the images below is from their Instagram feed, the other, their facebook page. Expect to see at least one video from this journey. We’ll continue to update you as we get more photos and information.
