Here’s What It’s Like To Drive The Five Greatest Porsche GT Cars Of All Time

It’s a Christmas miracle! The five greatest Porsche GT cars were assembled in one place for a short time to allow the infamous Matt Farah to climb on board and hustle all five around the Porsche Experience Center track in Los Angeles. Five of the most important 911s of the watercooled era on one track? That sounds like the kind of experience every one of us would die for. A Euro 996 GT3 RS, a 997 GT3 RS 4.0, a 997 GT2 RS, a 991 911R, and a 991 GT2 RS coming together is enough power and speed to take over the world. Usually these cars are kept separate for a reason.

Farah took some video of his laps in each of these cars, giving us mere mortals an opportunity to experience what each of these is like to drive. I’ve been behind the wheel of a 996 GT3, but not the all-conquering RS. The only one of these five that I’ve actually put my soles to pedals is the GT3 RS 4.0 and that was an otherworldly experience. I’ve driven a lot of 911s in my day, but some of these have yet evaded me.

If you had the opportunity to hustle just one of these around the race track for an afternoon, which one would you pick? Personally, I’m going with the all-analog 996 for the purest and most connected Porsche experience of the last 20 years.
