Back in the summer of 2014 Porsche purchased the historic South African track, Kyalami Circuit. At the time of the purchase we speculated as to what their intent might be. Now, near 19 months later, we know. Porsche has completely renovated the track and this past week hosted media from around the world to test drive the new 2017 911 Turbo and Turbo S. As part of the test was a set of lead follow events with factory driver Jörg Bergmeister in front at the wheel of a 911 GT3 RS. The Turbo might be fast along the straights and quicker out of corners, but it’s unlikely it could outpace the GT3 RS around a track like Kyalami. Watch, as Jörg shows us just what the GT3 RS can do.
Doesn’t the surface of that new track look incredible? Looks like Porsche has big plans for the track moving forward.
