If you are an EV fanatic like I am, and you aren’t already following Rich Rebuilds on YouTube, what are you doing with your life? Get it together, man! This guy is not only incredibly talented and intelligent, but he’s occasionally hilarious to boot. Rich spends his days rebuilding electric cars, typically Teslas, but recently he’s been branching out to rebuild things like badass BMW i8s and lowly Chevy Spark EVs. He even built his own electric rat rod once, even though it wasn’t particularly good at anything.
In Rich’s most recent video, he finds a wrecked Porsche Taycan Turbo at a Copart auction yard and gets all up on it for a close inspection of exactly what needs to be repaired and replaced. Being among the first Taycans in history to be written off, or perhaps the outright first in the world, it’s going to perhaps be difficult to source the necessary parts to rebuilt this bad boy. Porsche is currently selling Taycans pretty much as quickly as it can build them, and if you haven’t been paying attention to the news lately, an international pandemic kind of shut down the supply chain for automotive parts. All of that said, if anyone can tackle this project, it would be this guy.
Having been behind the wheel of one of these madcap electric Porsches, I can say that it is an incredible machine. The acceleration and handling is like nothing you’ve ever experienced, and it may well be the best all-around car Porsche has ever built. Porsche doesn’t exactly show off its engineering behind the Taycan, though, so it’s interesting to see a bit of the behind-the-scenes in this wrecked model. Thankfully none of the electric motors are scrap, but it looks like all four corners of the suspension need a proper rebuild, and some of the bodywork needs to be replaced.
Rich kind of intimates that he already bought the wrecked Taycan at the end of this video, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing more from him as this car returns to its former glory, and perhaps even stronger than before.
Would you buy a salvage title Taycan for what will presumably be a massive discount? I know I would if the work was done right.

guess the driver was more fascinated with his phone than what used to be the Porsche experience. Electric cars are fascinating, you don't need to shift or pay attention to attend to them and you can pretend they save the earth
What could you comment on it is pretty straight forward what i have just seen on the clip, i think i will go and hug a tree.
