Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 68

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. We recently started publishing our picks once a week instead of our prior bi-weekly schedule, in an effort to bring you more exciting Porsche auction action. Check back often for different cars! This week we have a good diversity of selections. Something for everyone if you will, including something a little different for your game room or garage. Keep in mind, some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S For Sale

while I like side skirt scripting on some Porsches, I think I would remove it on this Turbo S. What did catch my eye, however, was the Riviera Blue paint color. A “Paint to Sample” car, this 2011 Porsche Turbo S had covered just 9,000 miles. Someone needs to buy this and drive it the way it was meant to be driven, long and hard.

2. 1979 Porsche 928 For Sale

We don’t feature nearly enough 928s in this segment and I’m hoping to change that. The problem is, it’s often hard to find “good” ones for sale. Take this example for instance. It “looks” to be in good shape, but right off the bat the seller brings that into question by mentioning that the odometer no longer works and the mileage may or may not be what it shows. Are there service records? If so, that could help to answer the questions. If there are, and mileage is close to as stated, this could be a great buy. On the other hand, it could just as easily be a basket case and cost the new owner the same amount in repairs as the ultimate purchase price. A PPI is a must on any used Porsche, but even more so in this case.

3. 1994 Porsche 968 Cabriolet For Sale

So a 968 is top on my list for the 2nd most under appreciated Porsche (after the 924) and I’ve been on the hunt for a good one for a while now. This particular example is intriguing from a mileage and color combination standpoint (lapis blue over tan leather). What scares me is that if you look closely at the pictures, the paint and top appear to need some attention (I see holograms in the paint in a few images) and the description is conspicuously lacking in any mention of service history of actual condition.

4. 2013 Jet Green Metallic Porsche Cayenne GTS For Sale

My own Cayenne, while still a remarkable dog hauler and daily driver is getting a bit long in the tooth. So much so that I’m starting to look to replace it. This Jet Green Metallic GTS caught my eye both from a color combination and pricing standpoint. A GTS with these options, in this condition, should be priced about $5k to $7k higher. The lower price is probably due to the rear damage noted on the CarFax report. As most Cayennes are unlikely to appreciate and will only collect miles going to and from soccer games and the dog park, I’m not too concerned with that (so long as the damage was repaired properly). I’m more interested in getting a good deal. This Cayenne looks like it just might be that deal if the price is right.

5. 1991 Data East Porsche Themed Data East Checkpoint Pinball Machine For Sale

Well, you may not be able to drive it, but you sure as hell can play with it. Besides, who said that everything we put in this column has to be a car. I know I sure didn’t. I first became aware of this pinball machine a number of years ago when John pointed one out to me here on eBay. At the time, I thought we would end up purchasing it, but for one reason or another we didn’t. Now, fast forward a few years and another machine has become available at what seems like a reasonable price. For those not familiar with the Checkpoint Pinball machine, it has a built in “radar gun” that calculates the speed of the pinball and displays that speed in a dot matrix display. Dynamic play-by-play commentary tells you the actual speed the ball is traveling. Set a new speed record and hear the crowd go WILD! Multiball comes in a rush and a thrill as the Turbo Booster automatically sends another ball racing onto the playfield!

This would look great in your game room. Or, better yet, in the garage, right next to your Porsche!
