Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay This Week: Volume 35

We’ve been compiling the best Porsche models on eBay for over a year now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. There is some great new stuff every two weeks, so check back often. We’ve tracked down five more exciting Porsches for you nice people to purchase today, including a trio of open topped beauties; a 68 911L Targa, a 944 Cabriolet, and a gorgeous 964 speedster, not to mention a backdated hotrod and a strangely unique 993. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1976 Porsche 911 3.2 Liter Longhood Backdate For Sale

These days a backdated 911 is getting pretty common, and it’s hard to blame people for building them. A proper backdate mixes some of the best parts of 911 history from the late 3.2 liter engine to the early long-hood good looks. This one puts everything together in a gorgeous package that deserves your attention if you’re looking for an early 911 hot rod. This car has R Gruppe written all over it (figuratively, of course) and looks like it would be a ton of fun to drive. Everything about it is beautiful, including the non-traditional wheels. Well done.

2. 1968 Porsche 911L Targa Barn Find For Sale

Seriously, folks. I cannot bring this up enough. If you take beautiful photos of your Porsche that’s for sale, I will click on it 100 times out of 100. The same, I’m sure, goes for people who are actually in the buying mood. This car is listed as a barn find, and it has a few *issues* that might been to be addressed. The car does run, but the engine is ‘noisy’. Speaking of that engine, it’s a 2.2 liter from a 1971, not original to the car. The paint is good, but is not original and sits on top of a handful of other non-original layers. It is missing its fog lamps. It cuts a stunning figure in those photos, though.

3. Maritime Blue 1994 Porsche 911 “964” Speedster For Sale

I’ve never been much of a fan of Speedsters, but I can appreciate their rarity, and in the case of this Maritime Blue with color matched wheels example, its nineties-ness cannot be overlooked. It’s unique, it’s beautiful, and it’s in excellent shape. Thus ticking off all three of the boxes needed for most collectors. It’s a very cool car, and at a buy it now price of about $110k, it seems like its inline with the market.

4. 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet For Sale

I have lusted after these cars since the 1990s. I don’t know why, but the 944 S2 Cabriolet has always looked properly proportioned for a convertible cruiser. It’s hard to argue with the surgical smoothness of the 3 liter twin-cam inline 4. These were only made for a couple of years, and there were only about 7,000 of them produced worldwide. When they look this nice, they won’t stick around forever. Especially for only $12,500

5. Strangely Customized 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S For Sale

I’m usually the last to chastise someone for modifying their car to their own personal tastes. In this case, I might make an exception. I don’t know the owner’s obsession with lime green, but it’s everywhere on this car. The wheels, the large side stripe, the front grille, the mirrors, the rear decklid, the emblems, and most egregiously all over the interior. If there were a way to make a 993 look cheap, this is a pretty good place to start, in my opinion. Who knows, maybe the owner is a Seattle fan
