Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay This Week: Volume 40

We’ve been compiling the best Porsche models on eBay for about a year and a half now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. There is some great new stuff every two weeks, so check back often. We’ve tracked down five more exciting Porsches for you nice people to purchase today, including a great bang-for-the-buck deal, a gorgeous Paint-To-Sample Macan, an open-top 964, an eye-searing Carrera GT, and an increasingly popular mid-year Targa. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. Early-Dash 1985 Porsche 944 For Sale

The early 944 remains one of my favorite Porsche driving experiences, and it is one that you can still acquire for relatively little money. This car, as of this writing, has been bid up only a couple thousand dollars, and has not yet met reserve. I can’t imagine this car has a very high reserve, though, perhaps worth 4-5 thousand dollars. These cars are an absolute riot to drive around, and this one has a lot going for it. Equally, though, this car has a few counts against it with some weird seats, some strange switches on the dash of unknown origin, and a carpet dash cover points to a cracked dash. Those black Fuchs wheels really look good on this 944’s black paint, however. Get it and have fun with it. You’ll love it, I promise.

2. 1992 Porsche 911 America Roadster For Sale

In Midnight Blue over Tan, this America Roadster is quite a striking one. The fact that it is an America Roadster is, in itself, a rarity, as only 250 of these were built. This Porsche has just over 72,000 miles, and comes with its original books and service records. America Roadsters featured Turbo-look wide-bodies, as well as the same brakes and suspension that the Turbo was treated to, including 17″ twist wheels. The rear seats were deleted as well. It’s a rare car, and they are harder to find than you would think. At the rate rare Porsches are increasing in value, this one might be a good one to look at for a collector. That said, 74 grand is a lot or money for a 964.

3. Paint-To-Sample Fashion Grey 2016 Porsche Macan S For Sale

We loved the Macan. It’s a great well-rounded and comfortable commuter with reasonable sporting intentions. This car appears to have been optioned with comfort more in mind, featuring the 14-way power seats, Bose surround, the infotainment package, and the Premium Package Plus, but lacking our preferred PASM suspension and sport exhaust. That said, I might be convinced to forego a sportier ride and sound in order to have that beautiful color. This Macan S was optioned with non-metallic paint-to-sample Fashion Grey paint, which looks excellent in person. We first saw this color at Rennsport on the special edition 911 GTS, and it was love at first sight. I have no reason to believe it won’t look just as fetching on this Macan.

4. Fayence Yellow 2004 Porsche Carrera GT For Sale

There isn’t much that needs to be said about this car. It’s a Carrera GT in Fayence Yellow. Why wouldn’t you want it?

Nobody knows exactly how many of each color Carrera GT were produced, but this is believed to be one of about 89 Fayence cars in the world, which might be a little high in my opinion. With just 6000 miles on the odometer, fitted luggage, and a clutch pack that still measures well, this Carrera GT should be a good collector piece for many years to come. According to the sellers, this Carrera GT has never seen track time, and has a clean CarFax. At 900,000, this car is hardly a bargain, but at the rapid rate of Carrera GT inflation we’ve seen in the last year, it might still be worth looking into.

5. 1975 Porsche 911S Targa For Sale

There was a time when mid-year 911s, the ones built between the end of the long-hood era and the beginning of Carrera 3.0 liter production, were undesirable and you practically couldn’t give them away. Nobody wanted to deal with the downsides of the 2.7 liter engine, and nobody wanted the eyesore of the impact bumpers without the wide fenders that came on later cars. That said, ‘a rising tide lifts all ships’, and as the 911 generations on either side of this one have gone practically stratospheric, the prior maligned mid-year cars are also increasing in value. This beautiful brown model is currently listed with a $48,250 Buy-It-Now price, and judging by the market, could honestly fetch that.
