Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay This Week: Volume 61

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for almost two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. In all that time, we’ve published these every other week. Well, enough of you have spoken up that we’re going to try a weekly format, with two of us picking selections, so check back often. This week, we’ve assembled five more Porsches for you to peruse, including a beautiful Guards Red 964, two very unique Cayennes, a Porsche based dune buggy and a chopped 356 that has R Gruppe potential. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1990 Guards Red 964 Carrera 2 For Sale

Our first example is a gorgeous 964 Carrera 2 presented in Guards Red. I’m not much of a Guards Red fan myself, but on a nice 964, it is a color that just plain works. Especially when complemented with a slightly larger set of black wheels. Again, the Turbo Twist is one of my least favorite wheel designs, but somehow this car seems to pull them off quite well. Check out this list of parts that have recently been added to the car, and you might be swayed into adding it to your collection.

-New clutch (2013 – 82,500 miles)

-New dual-mass flywheel (2013)

-New Brake Disks (Stoptech slotted rotors – all 4 wheels) (2015)

-H&R Street Performance coilover suspension (professionally balance) (2015)

-Distributor caps, rotors, plugs, and valve cover kit (2013)

-Rennline Aluminum footwell pan (driver side)

-New Turbo Twist wheels powder coated flat black (2014)

2. Porsche-Powered Off Road Rail Buggy For Sale

This is an interesting little bit of the automotive sphere. This VW-based off-road buggy is said to be powered by a 914 2.0 liter flat four with a 944 Turbo’s compressor on top for a bit of additional power boost. While no power numbers are given, and no dyno sheets are presented, if done right and depending on boost pressure, this should be a bit over 120 horsepower, I’d guess. In a flyweight car with a tall-ratio 4 speed, that should be more than enough to get things moving along, even in sand and dirt. This description is literary gold, you should read it.

3. 2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS For Sale

While this particular GTS isn’t the 6-speed manual version that we would prefer, that glorious V8 is still enough of a draw on its own that we’d love to have one in our garage. The exhaust tuning on the GTS model is near aural perfection, and it’s something you can listen to comfortably every single day on your commute. This PTS metallic bronze-ish beauty features a set of 22″ OZ wheels that have been color matched to the factory paint, which I think is a nice touch.

4. 2004 Cayenne Limousine For Sale

Speaking of interesting and rare Cayenne iterations, here is one that was pressed into a life of servitude, and lived to see the other side of it. Who knows how many quinceaneras, proms, bachelor/bachelorette parties this beast of burden has shuttled back and forth to, and I’m not sure I want to know what happened in the back. This is one Cayenne that has more than a few stories to tell, but it’s probably best kept silent. If you are interested in hauling along 14 of your closest friends wherever you go, however, there are few better ways to make that happen than in a stretch limousine Porsche.

5. 1963 Porsche 356B T6 Outlaw Custom For Sale

This Porsche custom started out as a standard 356 B Coupe, and back in 2004 the car was completely stripped down to bare metal and given a new lease on life as a weirdly cool custom piece. The first thing you’ll notice is that the roof has been chopped down by two full inches. That doesn’t seem like it would be a lot, but the profile is drastically changed. Next the front fender profile was changed to more-approximate the earlier 356A-style fenders. And the final major piece of the puzzle is the frenched-in headlights at the front.

One thing you might not expect by looking at this car, however, is that the rear half of the car is mechanically a late 1970s 911 3.0 liter SC. Everything from the brakes to the suspension to the engine and 915 gearbox was swapped into the engine compartment of this monster. With extensive modifications, everything now fits like a glove and supposedly does not suffer from any heat issues. I know one thing, I’d love the opportunity to drive this beast, assuming I can fit in under the chopped roof.
