Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay This Week: Volume 67

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. We recently started publishing our picks once a week instead of our prior bi-weekly schedule, in an effort to bring you more exciting Porsche auction action. Check back often for different cars! This week we have a good helping of rarities, a racecar, a restoration, and a runway racer. Keep in mind, some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort For Sale

It isn’t often that a 959 comes up for sale on eBay of all places. This is a Porsche generally reserved for high-end auction houses and resellers. This is a relatively late production 959 that was originally delivered via special order to Monaco. The 959 features its original engine, and according to the seller was pampered its entire life, available now with only 23,700 miles on the clock. The Monégasque buyer apparently backed out on the deal, as the car was sold then to InterAuto, a Porsche dealer in Nagoya, Japan. There have been three prior “corporate owners” in Japan, and this 959 was recently imported to the US. The car is presented as being in perfect condition, and the only non-stock modification is a battery cutoff switch. As such, this car is not California legal. Buyer beware, but this is a rare car at a huge price. Is it worth it to you?

2. 1972 Porsche 914 3.6 Liter Race Car For Sale

This might make for an interesting piece for conversation purposes, and it’s built to smoke a lot of the competition as well. This Porsche is probably quite fast, if I had to make a guess, being that it’s a featherweight 914 chassis with a bunch of lightweight fiberglass panels bolted on, but it also has a secret surprise in the form of a 3.6 liter 993 engine in the middle. 3. 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Targa For Sale

Talk about rare, the 964 Targa is one of those really rare Porsches that you just don’t see often. On top of that, this appears to be a pretty well kept example with beautiful paint and only 53,000 miles. All of the original tools, documents, books, and even the factory air compressor is included in the sale, and shows just how nicely kept this car is. The 964 market has gone a bit nutty lately, and this Porsche is offered for a whopping $67,500. I imagine that a long oceanside drive in this car with the top removed and the windows down would be a little slice of heaven, but is it worth nearly 70,000 dollars?

4. 1300 Horsepower AMS Tuned 2007 Porsche 997 Turbo For Sale

This unassuming white 997 Turbo might be the world’s greatest sleeper. Sure it’s hard to call a Porsche a sleeper, as the 997 Turbo was pretty darn quick when it was fresh out of the box, but this one has been amped way up. With the AMS “Alpha 12X” package, this car produces a mind numbing 1300 horsepower on race gasoline. The build was completed just a handful of months ago, and it’s already mopping up at the drag strip.

5. Sky Blue 1965 Porsche 356C Coupe For Sale

This is a gorgeous 356 in a beautiful color that deserves to be scooped up by someone who will appreciate it. This Sky Blue color is the Porsche’s original color, but it would appear not the original coat. From the pictures, the paint looks absolutely amazing and I could stare at it for hours on end. With a houndstooth/black leatherette interior, the inside looks like an equally gorgeous place to spend time as well. This 356 is presented as numbers matching, down to the original date-coded KPZ steel wheels. It’s hard not to love a plucky and fun-to-drive car like this old disc-brake 356. Get it before it’s gone.
