Behind The Scenes at The Porsche Design ANDIAL Limited Edition Watch Presentation

Sometimes, the coolest parties during events like Monterey Car Week go unnoticed by the masses. That’s because, for the most part, they are private, intimate affairs intended for those few individuals lucky enough to be in attendance. The Porsche Zentrum at the Quail Lodge served as the setting for one such event in celebration of ANDIAL (a name synonymous with success in North American sports car racing) hosted by Porsche Design, on the evening of Thursday, August 18th.

For those of you not familiar with ANDIAL, their history is too great for a short post like this. However, rest assured that their contributions to Porsche customer racing is a big part of how and why Porsche Motorsport North America operates their customer racing support division today.

This sentiment was summed up and echoed by the current President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, Jens Walther,

“Many of us grew up watching the ANDIAL-powered Porsche 962 and Porsche 935 race cars competing and winning championship after championship. ANDIAL marks an important part of Porsche’s customer racing in North America. The founders and their team laid the foundation for the customer racing support program that Porsche Motorsport North America has been operating since then, which enables race customers to focus on their programs and not have to worry about developing race cars.

We at Porsche Motorsport North America are very proud to carry the brand and the values of the owners into the future. The ‘ANDIAL FIVE,’ the five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 4.0 ANDIAL Limited Edition cars, mark the first generation of new ANDIAL cars. The owners of these cars not only have a special piece of fine automotive history but also a great machine to enjoy on the North American race tracks.”

In order to celebrate that history, Porsche Design released a custom limited-edition chronograph that pays homage to ANDIAL.

Limited to just 20 units, the timepieces were pre-sold and presented to their new owners during the cocktail reception at the Porsche Zentrum.

Jeff Zwart Amongst The Owners of the New ANDIAL Porsche Design Watch

While we know the owners of most of the new watches a number of them prefer to remain private. Jeff Zwart, however, openly acknowledged ANDIAL, and their contribution toward his many Pikes Peak victories, with the following image and caption on Instagram.

Obviously, a great event, an excellent watch and a fun party. Enjoy the rest of the images in our gallery below. Hit the “x” in the top left corner to return to the post when done viewing the gallery.
