Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 83

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1983 Porsche 944 For Sale

You have to feel for the seller of this 944. According to his listing he “bought this on a whim and it’s a bit too loud and rowdy for this 68 year old heart patient”. Said to be built by known drag racer/builder in Michigan the specs make it seem like one performance oriented drag racer. Even if a drag racing 944 isn’t your thing, this listing is worth looking at just for the pics on their own. Not only does a 944 look bad-ass with those huge Mickey Thompsons on it, take a look around the seller’s driveway and garage to see what else he likes to play with.

2. 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo For Sale

There are certain Porsches that remind me of my Hot Wheels collection and this ’77 Turbo is one of them. It’s definitely the Turbo graphics that spark the memory, but the yellow over brown color combination is hard to ignore, too. Said to be one of only two made in this color combination, the seller claims this 911 to have just 38,190 miles since new and benefits from a recent restoration including a complete engine rebuild. This is definitely a collector quality 911. You’ll have to decide if it’s worth the asking price.

3. 1968 Porsche 912

912s are experiencing a type of renaissance as of late. I’m not sure if it’s simply the fact that all other air-cooled Porsches have become so high priced that smaller budgets needed a place to go. Or, if people are finally realizing that the 912 isn’t the “read-headed step child” of the 911 world people think it is. This particular example is said to have been resprayed once in its original beautiful burgundy color on all original panels. The seller says the engine and transmission are both original to the car and the engine boasts a rebuild with just 4 miles on it. This auction is active so far with more than 15 bids (current bid at time of publication is $25,900) and the reserve not yet met.

4. 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Tribute For Sale

I like tribute cars and there’s something about this one that just caught my eye. Not sure if it’s the kind of garish, yet almost period correct, color combination or the way those two exhaust cannons pipes just look ready to shoot flames. Either way, the seller claims this Porsche still utilizes its original 3.2 motor (now fitted with 3.6 heads, barrels, pistons, flywheel and cam) along with lots of other goodies inside and out. If tribute cars are what you’re into, and you’re not looking to build your own, check out this one and consider making an offer.

5. 1964 Porsche 356 PORSCHE 356 1600 SC REUTTER COUPE For Sale

These days “patina” is all the rage when it comes to driving a 356 and boy does this example have “patina”. The seller doesn’t provide much information, but they do have that great video above along with lots and lots of pictures. Said to be mostly original, this 356 SC appears to be an excellent long-term project or something you can drive and enjoy as is. The factory floors are solid, it still has its numbers matching engine and tranmsission and even is said to include a “rare Large Tartan Suitcase option”. Pick this one up for the right price, get yourself an Instagram account and drive your way to Porsche internet fame.
