Porsche 918 Spyder Is Fastest Production Car In The World On Le Mans Bugatti Circuit

Sport Auto magazine recently conducted their annual “Supertest” on November 5th at the Le Mans Bugatti Circuit. With Christophe Tinseau, a driver and instructor at the Porsche Sports Driving School, at the wheel, the 918 clocked a record breaking time of 1’42.627. This is nearly 3 full seconds faster than the 1’45.26 record held by the Radical SR3. The Porsche 918 Spyder is now the fastest production car to ever drive this circuit.

According to Tinseau, “The 918 has incredible acceleration power! What surprised me the most was its efficiency and how easy it was to drive at low speeds on 100 percent electric power. The 918 offers the best of two worlds; it has the precision of a GT3 when entering turns and the efficiency and power of a 911 Turbo S when exiting them – but at much higher speeds!”
