This Is What Happens When You Cross a Porsche 928 With An El Camino

I die a little inside when I see Porsches like this. I’m sure the owner had the best of intentions and it’s possible that the conversion was even done well. It’s just that no matter how good of a job was done, a Porsche 928 and a Chevy Elcamino should have never been mated. Maybe it would be okay for them to pass on the street. But, to swap parts between the two?

For sale on Hemmings.com the seller doesn’t give much information considering the shock you get from looking at it. All we know is that it started life as a 1978 Porsche 928 and some where along its timeline it was raped and this happened.

What’s left is a “professionally custom built cowboy pickup” that can be yours for $12,900.

  • Y'know, apart from the "beer-can" rear window, and maybe the wheels, it's not bad, so no need for proud and pious purists to get their panties in a wad. Way more interesting than a regular El Camino or the average 1979 928, that's for sure!

    • I agree that it's interesting. Interesting in the same way that Dennis Rodman seems to be the new U.S. Ambassador to North Korea. It's just wrong. Very, very wrong. :-)

  • I'm sorry. That's ugly. Some people should be jailed for what they do. I think it is against the law in most states, I looked it up.

  • Who cares???....A 70s 928 and El Camino are worth about the same anyway.
The guy was thinking outside the box when he looked at two useless pieces of junk and decided to BUILD something different. Kudos to the German Cowboy!!
