Driving peacefully along at around 120 kph on a French Autoroute in a Porsche 993 seems like one of the best activities for a sunny Sunday afternoon. However, when it all goes wrong, it can instantly turn into a nightmare if you aren’t paying close enough attention. Thankfully, driver Augustin Kuntz had his wits about him when a couple of small hatchbacks had a contretemps in front of him, and deftly avoided collision.
Defensive driving is an imperative skill to develop, and it may well have saved Augustin from injury, and certainly from damage to his Porsche. As the car on the left abruptly entered the autoroute, headlong into the side of another little hatch, both went careening off to the sides of the highway, leaving the 993 to thread the needle between them.

Luckily for Augustin, and his 993, he was following at a safe distance, had his eyes on the road ahead of him, and had the spacial awareness to know that he had cleared the car to his right and could take evasive action. This just goes to show that a modicum of attention paid to the road in front of you can give you that extra split second of reaction time that may be needed to avoid an incident.

The original video is in French as are most of the comments. Our only guess is the driver had a seat back mount or a suction cup mount (this is most likely) high on the driver's side window.

Well done, my French friend!!! I wonder how the genius who was merging onto the strassenbahn overshot the on-ramp so dramatically as to careen across all lanes of traffic in the first place. Does anyone know the demise of those affected??? Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Dan, we haven't been able to get any additional details. I wonder if the driver of the car that overshot the ramp fell asleep or had a medical mishap? It seems like they just shoot straight out vs. overshooting a corner...
Two hands on the wheel, being alert, and NO TEXTING. It's a very simple formula, that unfortunately, too many drivers these days don't know.
