Located in the Mediterranean Sea, Spain’s Majorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands archipelago. Amongst other things, it’s home to Cap de Formentor (a small mountain located on the northernmost point of island). What makes Cap de Formentor special for us Porsche lovers is the 8.4 mile long road which runs from Port de Pollença to the summit. Built by the Italian engineer Antonio Parietti the road is known by tourist and cyclists the world over for it’s twist, turns and incredible vistas.
Surprisingly, however, Cap de Formentor ins’t Parietti’s most well known road. That honor goes to Sa Calobra, the winding road into the small fishing village drops over 2000′ in elevation in under 6 miles. Made without the aid of machines and engineered in a way that requires no tunnels, it’s something you have to experience to truly grasp.
Fortunately, for those of us who aren’t likely to get there soon, our friends over at EVO shot the incredible video above featuring the Porsche Boxster GTS on what may just be some of the best driving roads in the world.
