Traditionally, Porsche’s “Platinum Editions” models offer a number of standard features that are otherwise considered options on “regular” models. While you pay a higher MSRP for the “Platinum Edition” you pay a lower overall price than if you were to have purchased a similarly equipped standard model. The 2017 Cayenne Platinum Editions are no different. These select configurations are offered for just a limited time, and they time to order one is now.
On the outside, the Cayenne and Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition variants will be recognizable by their distinctive appearance both inside and out. For example, large 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels are housed in wider wheel arches and the special interior is dominated by leather eight-way electrically adjustable sport seats with Alcantara® center panels, Porsche crest on the head rests, and stainless steel door sills with illuminated “Platinum Edition” lettering.
Equipment that would otherwise be optional is now standard for the Cayenne Platinum Edition including Bi-Xenon™ headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Power Steering Plus, and front and rear ParkAssist. The exterior mirrors and rear-view mirror are equipped with an automatic anti-glare feature as standard, while dark-tinted privacy glass (also standard) provides additional privacy for rear passengers.
Solid black and white paint finishes are standard, with Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White, or Rhodium Silver metallic paints optionally available. The wheel arch extensions are also available in body color. The models’ exclusive appearance is rounded out by a high gloss black exterior trim package.
Platinum Edition models come with the latest generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system that includes navigation, the Connect Plus module, and a BOSE® Surround Sound system. In addition, if you opt for the plug-in Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition model you’ll get auxiliary cabin conditioning which allows the vehicle to be programmed to use the heater or air-conditioning to “pre-condition” the cabin before the driver enters the vehicle.
The options listed above are for the U.S. only. some markets may offer more or less.
US Pricing and Delivery
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid’s 3.0 liter V6 supercharged engine and electric motor results in 47 mpg,while producing a maximum 416 hp. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition model will start at an MSRP of $81,600. With a 3.6 liter V6 producing 300 hp, the 2017 Cayenne Platinum Edition model will start at an MSRP of $65,600. Both prices do not include a delivery, processing, and handling fee of $1,050.
Canadian Pricing and Delivery
The Cayenne Platinum Edition sells for $75,100, while the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition has a sticker price of $92,100 (taxes and delivery charges not included). The Platinum Edition models are now available for customer order; the market launch is scheduled to begin in August.
German Pricing and Delivery
Germany is adding a third model to the mix, the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition (which has an output of 193 kW (262 hp) and consumes between 6.8 and 6.6 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers in the NEDC, depending on the tires the vehicle is equipped with). The Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition sells for €74,352, while the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition has a sticker price of €90,298 (all prices include VAT). The Platinum Edition models can already be ordered; the market launch is scheduled to begin in June.
Australian Pricing and Delivery
Pricing for the Cayenne Platinum Edition starts from $110,700 plus on road costs while the Diesel Platinum Edition is priced from $108,900. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platuinum Edition has a recommended retail price of $136,700.
UK Pricing and Delivery
Prices start at £55,134 for the 258bhp Cayenne Diesel, or £66,919 for the 410bhp Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
