Take A Look At How The Offroading LuftAuto 2 Was Built

When you get Pat Long, Jeff Zwart, Rod Emory, and Joey Seely of E-motion Engineering to collaborate on a single project, the outcome is bound to be a seriously rad Porsche. In this case, ‘LuftAuto 002’ is that outcome and it fits the bill to a T. The LuftAuto thing all started with Luftgekuhlt 3 when they built a white Safari-style Carrera to be auctioned off for charity (Where it sold for $275,000). This bright signal yellow version was built for Luftgekuhlt 4 earlier this spring, and it was given an even more potent drivetrain. Check out this video from Donut Media for the full story.

With a Rothsport-built 3.2-liter engine and a rally-ratio G50 gearbox, this little beast is an absolute riot, off-road or on. In the video you can see Zwart putting the car through its paces on some of his favorite high-country dirt stages. The suspension is a serious off-road setup with coilovers from KW, and the Pirelli rally tires on a set of rally wheels will make sure it grips in the loose dirt. There’s a cage for safety, a roof rack to hold your spare, and a ducktail to make it look seriously cool. Porsche has an epic history in rally, and the Luftauto 002 extends that tradition.

You can bet that a whole lot more about this car will be coming to light about this Porsche, so check back often for more information. This video is only scratching the surface of the amazing work that went into Luftauto 002, and we certainly want to hear a lot more about it. It’s a gorgeous Porsche built for an amazing event.
