There are very few experiences in the world that are more fun than a romp through the canyons with a good friend in vintage 911s. A pair of R Gruppe cars driven by a pair of reasonably capable drivers, one bright orange 2.2 liter 250-ish horsepower ST clone driven by none other than Chad McQueen, and one little “white mouse”, the personal “Sports Purpose” 1968 911T (with S-spec engine) of artist Nicolas Hunziker.
The video is really pretty cool. It starts in a manner reminiscent of a certain early 1970s racing film with a McQueen in it, with still photos of the cars in question being displayed over the sound of a healthy accelerating heartbeat. The metaphor isn’t lost on us, as these cars get our hearts racing, too!
A few well-timed heel-toe gear changes and some pretty darn good driving makes for an exciting lead-follow driving video. McQueen in his faster and more impressively tire shod car should likely be able to walk away from Hunziker’s narrow bodied little 68, but like an eager little puppy, Nicolas keeps nipping at Chad’s heels.
Watch this video over a cup of coffee in the morning, and you’ll be wide awake by the end, and ready for carving canyons of your own.

....is it not eerily similar to "Bullitt"?
While I'm not familiar with California canyons I highly doubt that this road is in fact "closed" as they say. If I had a real closed course I think I would go over the yellow lines. I think they embellished the safety part a bit.
Still a fantastic video.
