When a Category 5 Hurricane threatens your inventory, and that inventory costs tens of millions, you take the necessary measures to protect it, like this Porsche dealership did. For those that don’t have the same space as Porsche of West Broward the Porsche Design Tower is offering some choice machines refuge from the biblical storm that has ravaged the Caribbean; the protected Ferraris, Paganis, and other supercars are kept safe in the 641′ skyscraper just north of Biscayne Bay.
Miami’s Prestige Imports took advantage of the newly-constructed high rise, which is built to withstand Category 5 winds and boasts a unique elevator, nicknamed the “Dezervator,” which moves the valuable hypercars to tenant’s garages on any of the building’s sixty stories. Ten of Prestige’s pricier hypercars were brought in for protection, and only the best are defended from the storm—a $200,000 Huracan still sits at their dealership. Additionally, the Tower’s builder brought in extra water pumps to ensure that the building remains bone-dry, especially down in the Dezervator’s vulnerable pit.
The cars are safeguarded against the storm in unused condos as well as an unsold penthouse which recently went up for $32.5 million. Additionally, some sixty cars were delivered by unit owners, most of whom have condos currently being built, to be sheltered from Irma.
