A surprise within a surprise. In this Inception-style gag, the mischievous Belgian Jacky Ickx gets the upper hand on a troop of valets who offer a new Panamera for sampling. The reactions are wonderful, and the patrons of this upscale Thai hotel say everything; their faces beam as they’re given a taste of one of most refined sports-luxury sedans on the market, and the camera crew laughs from the secrecy of their trailer. Everyone is enjoying themselves.
Ickx makes a mockery of the valet’s attempt at surprise.
However, bring a Belgian champion into the equation, pull a few stunts, and quickly the atmosphere changes. While Ickx guffaws inside the Panamera he’s just stolen from the unwitting camera crew, they shriek in horror as he shows off some of the skills which helped him on the Dakar Rally, Le Mans, and Formula 1. A few drifts later, and the crew is gesticulating furiously at this supposed thief who just stole their expensive loaner.
Ickx returns with a broad, gleaming smile to a furious camera crew. With a spray of confetti, they learn that the prankers have become the prankees, and all have enjoyed a thrilling experience with a mix of surprise, fear, and laughter—just the cocktail the Panamera promises.
