Porsche 964 Consumed By Fire In Tampa Parking Lot

This past week has seen a rash of classic and tuned Porsches destroyed by fire or accident. Today comes word of yet another air-cooled Porsche lost to a fire of unknown origins. The 1991 Porsche 964 in the video below appears to have suffered an engine fire. With no extinguisher handy, the fire can be seen spreading to the point where it engulfs the entire rear-end of the 911. Given the fact that the passenger’s side door is open throughout the video we can only surmise that the owner was present at the time of the fire and might have been able to salvage a few belongings before having to retreat to a safer distance. What’s amazing to me are the people who walk right by the burning Porsche as if it’s not there. Check out the guy who stands behind it making a phone call. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
