Mercedes is known to only have made two of them and they were both for Porsche. One is owned by Porsche, this one, “Buster”, is part of the Brumos Collection. Carrying everything from 910s to 956s in its cargo hold this Porsche transporter is said to have “struck the fear of God in other team’s hearts“. The transporter was the first thing that competitors and spectators saw of Porsche’s arrival to an event. According to Hurley Haywood, that truck “meant Porsche was there to do business“.
“Inside that truck was some wickedly fast race cars.” – Hurley Haywood
Watch and learn and as both Hurley and Don Leatherwood (Director of the Brumos Collection) regale us with the history and provenance of this very special part of Porsche’s racing history.

You really need to see "Buster" up close and personal - see all the autographs on the plywood walls, and step back in time and let your imagination free. I feel more of a "special bond" with those pioneers of the Porsche legend after being in that transporter - especially if you get see the awesome logistical operation that supports the 919s in WEC series - just incredible. Visiting "Buster" is special...what can one add to that??
