Watch As This Porsche Gets Stolen From The Owner’s Driveway

We all fear it, getting ready to take your Porsche for a drive only to find that it’s been stolen. That’s exactly what happened to Alec Cortez of Canberra, Australia when he left his 911 running in the driveway for a few minutes. Apparently, Alec had just finished cleaning the wheels of his car and his hands were pretty dirty as a result. Instead of getting into getting into his Porsche all covered in “filth” he went inside to wash-up first. However, as it’s currently cooler than usual (remember it’s what passes for winter in Australia right now) Alec left the car running while he went inside. He was only gone for 90 seconds, but that’s all it took for these opportunistic thieves to notice the Porsche, see that noone is around and steal it.

Fortunately for Alec his Porsche was recovered fairly quickly with the only damage being some dust from the police forensic unit. Fortunately for us, Alec had a security system that shows us exactly why it’s never a good idea to leave our Porsches running and unattended.

  • Good story, but please do not spell Porsches as Porsche's. I don't know why so many people these days use an 's to pluralize a word. In most cases, simply add an 's'.

  • Agree Robert, but I think it is the supposedly helpful "auto-correct" systems that make life so interesting now. As an old English major, I try to proof read before clicking the "send" button, but that is time-consuming.

    • Thanks, Chuck,

As much as I would like to blame auto correct, I'm sure it was just an error on my part.

I'm not sure people understand how much time and effort goes into producing this site. More importantly, most don't realize that there are just two of us. I'm not complaining, just saying we're human. :-)
