Why Attending the 12 Hours of Sebring is a Must for any Porsche Fan.

In the 61 year history of the 12 Hours of Sebring Porsche has claimed more victories than any other automaker. In fact, a Porsche still holds the record for the fastest race lap ever in this event; set in 1986 by Derek Bell in a Porsche 962 his record still stands nearly three decades later. However, for those that have attended a Sebring race you know there’s so much more to it than a mere race, it’s a party. Remember the Drunk Monks of Sebring? How about the Sebring Cows? Patrick Long narrates the video below explaining what makes this event so unique and why it should be on every Porsche fan’s “bucket list”

The ’73 911 driven by Hurley in the video above is the same one we found hidden in the garage at Amelia Island that was later displayed on the concours. We were fortunate enough to have dinner with the owner the evening before the Concours and we’ll be bringing you more on some of the other Porsches in his collection in the coming weeks.
