Who Will Be The Next Porsche Superstar? A Must Watch Reality Series

Porsche’s been promoting their official Junior Motorsport Program for some time now. Last August they released a series of videos that showcased just what the young drivers face as part of the Porsche Junior selection process. Then, in October, Porsche announced the first ever Young Driver Academy to be held at Barber Motorsport Park. This new program is designed using elements of Porsche’s European Junior selection program with specific details relevant for North America.

Sean Johnston (2012 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge champion), Cooper MacNeil (2012 ALMS GT Challenge champion), Kyle Marcelli (2012 IMSA GT3 Cup Canada – most wins), and Spencer Pigot (2012 USF2000 series – most wins) were chosen to participate based on their exceptional 2012 racing seasons.

Today, Porsche released the trailer below providing a brief glimpse into what the four North American drivers experienced during their time at Barber.

More importantly, it looks like there’s more to come in the way of a short documentary starting on May 9th, 2013. A Porsche reality series if you will. There hasn’t been much news on the Young Driver’s Academy since last October so we’re hyper interested to see who, if anyone, was picked and what happens to them next. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated as more info comes out.
