The 2022 Porsche Cayenne is the second model to get the Platinum Edition, following the Panamera sedan. Like its low-slung sibling, the Cayenne Platinum Edition gets several exterior design tweaks. This includes 21-inch RS Spyder Design alloy wheels, Satin Platinum badges in the rear, and Satin Platinum lower front air intakes. Other touches include black exhaust tips and mirror surrounds. The 2022 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition will be available only in a handful of colors including Jet Black, Carrara White, Mahogany, Moonlight Blue, and Chalk. You can also personalize it even further via the Porsche Manufaktur program, which expands the customization options. Available alloy wheel options range from 21- to 22 inches in diameter.

Inside, the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition gets Chalk seat belts, aluminum door sills with Platinum Edition written on them, and textured aluminum trim. Additional standard features include adaptive LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose surround sound system, interior ambient lighting, eight-way power front sport seats with heating, and the Porsche crest embossed on all headrests. If that’s not enough for you, there’s a long list of options including ventilated and massaging front and rear seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, Porsche InnoDrive driver assistance system, a surround-view camera, and remote parking.

Like the exterior, Porsche offers an extensive list of cosmetic options to make your Cayenne Platinum Edition distinctly yours. You’ll be able to choose from several upholstery options including two-tone Blue and Chalk or Black and Bordeaux Red leather upholstery. There are also two Club Leather options in Truffle Brown or a combo of Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown. In addition to aluminum trim, you can also opt for wood and carbon fiber on the interior.

You can pick between three powertrain options for the Cayenne Platinum Edition. The base engine is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. If you’re looking for more power, there’s the Cayenne S with the new 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 434 hp and 405 lb-ft. The most powerful Platinum Edition is the Cayenne E-Hybrid, which couples the base model’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor and a 17.9-kWh battery. In total, the system makes 455 hp and 516 lb-ft. All three versions use an eight-speed automatic transmission. The most versatile powertrain is the Cayenne E-Hybrid, which can travel up to 17 miles in all-electric mode. When driven as a hybrid, it’s EPA-rated at 21/20/22 mpg city/highway/combined. Base Cayenne models are rated at 17/22/19 mpg while the Cayenne S checks in at 16/22/18 mpg.

Available in standard and Coupe variations, the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition starts at $80,350 with the base engine. If you get the swoopy body style, pricing begins at $84,650, a $4,300 premium. The Cayenne S Platinum Edition checks in at $94,750 for the regular SUV or $96,950 for the Cayenne S Coupe. Surprisingly, the Cayenne E-Hybrid Platinum Edition is less expensive than the Cayenne S at $94,050 or $95,150 for the Coupe variant. The Cayenne E-Hybrid models are also eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit plus local and state incentives for plug-in hybrid and battery-electric vehicles.
