Porsche Cars North America Sales by Model: March 2017

March results were strengthened by strong consumer demand for Panamera and Macan models. The 2017 Panamera recorded 554 units in its first month on sale –– a notable 65.9% increase over last March. The Macan continued its strong performance achieving 1,802 vehicle sales, a 60.5% increase year-over-year. Macan sales stand at 5,337 year-to-date which represents 48.1% growth over 2016.

  • I just bought a 2017 911 Turbo S. Anyone have an idea what annual worldwide sales or North American sales of this particular model are?

    • Hey, Carlton,
PCNA no longer provides those numbers. PLUS, they are still selling so it's a moving target. Your best bet is to speak with your dealer and try to get some numbers from them...

  • Wow. It appears now that the "real" Porsche owner drives a Cayenne. Which is some combination of humorous and horrible, as the following emounter suggests: Driving I 95 south in Connecticut in my 997, I am in the passing lane and before me a Cayenne turbo. He won't yield the lane. So I wait to pass him on the right, drop into 4th, and pull around him. I pass easily despite his turbo and look back to see double birds as I pull away. Sad but wiser about the Porsche "community"; Macan and Cayenne drivers are Porsche posers, not enthusiasts

    • As a Cayenne owner, and the publisher of this site, I take exception to your overly broad generalization. People need to get over the fact that Porsche sells SUVs. Basically, Porsche is an automotive company that specializes in sports cars and sells some of the best performing SUVs on the market to support that. Without the sales of Cayennes, Macans and Panameras, the company wouldn't exist anymore...

      • Sad but true that Porsche is probably more financially sound making SUVs. My personal experience is that 911, Boxster and Caymen drivers are driving sports cars, cars that are uniquely Porsche in their handling. I have driven Cayennes several times and do not sense an appreciable difference from the X5. I observe others in 911s drive with élan. I sense none of that with Cayenne drivers I encounter. Pepper Girl, enjoy your Cayenne and thank you for doing your part keeping Porsche a viable company.

      • Cheers, Pepper Girl!! Yes, most likely there would not have been a 997 to buy had it not been for the Cayenne introduction in 2004. By retaining the 911 models Porsche could have put them at a price point like the Ferrari 458 in which case most fanboys could have their 911s on their smartphones as screensavers.

  • I have a cayenne turbo and a Panamera turbo and a GT3. I can tell you that they are all excellent in what they do. The problem was the person in the left hand lane should have moved to the right so he would not be impeding traffic.

  • So what? I drive an 1984 911, a 2013 Boxster S a , 2004 C4S, a 2008 Cayenne Turbo, and a 2015 Macon Turbo, all geat cars, all very fun, and all very different. Enjoy life, drive fast.
