Summer is here, and Montreal has emerged from the grip of the ice-choked St. Lawrence river. Canada’s window of clear weather has arrived, and Porsche has just the thing for the now sun-drenched Canadian population. Porsche Drive, a Porsche rental service that launched at the Porsche Museum in 2014, has arrived in Canada. Interested drivers can rent from the Porsche lineup, including the 718 Boxster, 911, and Porsche’s four door models.
The program launched in 2014 at the Porsche Museum, and has since expanded to five locations in Germany and one in Switzerland. The new location on the south shore of Montreal will be the first Porsche Drive facility in North America.
Rental periods begin at one hour, and can last as long as a week. Models from the 718 Boxster, 911, Macan, Cayenne and Panamera lineups are available for rental. 718 Boxster rentals start at $149CAN for an hour, and rates increase from there.
Similar Global Offerings
A similar program, known as Porsche Passport and run in conjunction with Clutch Technologies, LLC, offers longer term Porsche rentals for US based subscribers. The US program is based in Atlanta and offers users access to up to 22 models with unlimited mileage and included insurance.
It is not noted if the full range of Porsche Drive services currently offered in Europe will be offered in Canada at the time of launch. In addition to the basic rental services, Porsche also offers dealer-to-door delivery services for rental vehicles and a chauffeur service.
For those who regularly cross into Canada, this is a pretty interesting option. Why not add a vacation from your daily driver to your trip North of the border?
