Porsche’s World Wide Delivery Figures for May 2013

With 15,020 deliveries worldwide in May 2013, Porsche’s numbers were down slightly from last month (15,200) but still outperformed the figure of the same month in the prior year by 13 percent. Year-to-date deliveries are equal to 67,261 new Porsches – a boost of 19 percent compared to the period of January to May 2012.

“In terms of customer deliveries to date, we have exceeded our expectations in the ongoing year. Given the continuing volatility of the market development, we nevertheless remain cautiously optimistic for the second half of the year,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “The 911 in particular delights customers and aficionados of the brand the world over, being highly coveted in the year of its 50th birthday. We are honoring our iconic car with an exclusive limited special model at the IAA, which can now be ordered.”

The US continues on as Porsche’s largest market with exactly 3,927 customers taking delivery of their new sports car – an increase of 38 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second-largest Porsche market, China, the very high level from May 2012 was improved by six percent to 3,206 deliveries in May of this year. The best-seller in this market was again the sporty SUV Cayenne.

Porsche delivered 2,805 mid-engine sports cars to customers (Boxsters/Cayman) – this is nearly three times the figure of May 2012. 3,000 vehicles in the 911 model range, i.e. twelve percent more than in the same month of the past year, were handed over to customers in the reporting month.
