China Outpaces U.S. In January As Porsche’s Largest Single Market

Porsche AG just released their worldwide delivery figures for January 2015 and they’re huge! Up 31.2% over the same period last year, a total of 16,044 people took delivery of new Porsches in the first month of the year. Most interesting is the difference in deliveries between China and the U.S. With 4,946 deliveries in January (a 22.6% increase over last year) China is Porsche’s largest single market by a margin of slightly more than 1,000 cars (U.S. customers took delivery of 3,937 Porsches).

“After a successful 2014, we want to continue to carry forward our goal of qualitative growth this year”, said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “Our next step will be an expansion of the model line-up with the sportiest Targa ever – the 911 Targa 4 GTS – and the thoroughbred mid-engine sports car Cayman GT4.”

In Porsche’s home market of Germany (the 3rd largest single market), Porsche realized a gain of 39% compared to the same month last year with more than 2,000 new car deliveries. In Europe overall, the sports car maker delivered more than 4,500 vehicles to customers.
