Everything You Need To Know About Putting Your Porsche On A Dyno

Larry Kosilla may be best know for his /DRIVE CLEAN video series that teaches Porsche owners how best to cosmetically care for their cars, but he’s also a Porsche owner and enthusiast himself. Long-term readers of our site are more than likely familiar with the 964 street/track 911 he recently built and is the featured car in this video. While partly an embedded commercial for Speed Sport Tuning, the following video does provide a lot of useful knowledge about putting your Porsche on a Dyno. It covers everything from the prep work required and what to expect when the car is on the machine through to how the results can be used to improve your Porsche’s performance. As the video comes from the crew at /DRIVE it has the clean, quality production values we’re used to and Larry makes for a great narrator as he walks us through the whole Dyno process.

  • I've known Spencer way back when he was the right arm of Larry Prentiss, the owner of Speedsport Tuning on Shippan Ave in Stamford, CT in the early 80's. At the time I had an 84 BMW745i (euro turbo) and these guys were the best in the business. I have followed Spencer since his days in Stamford with Larry and now once again running his own shop in Danbury. Most recently I watched him race at the 48hrs of Sebring, a PCA Club event with 400+ cars. He qualified on the pole for his class and I suspect he won it. But he still had his eyes on his customers cars he managed throughout the event, all of which were well prepped by his people and him.
