It was just last year when we first introduced you to the C’SEED 201 Outdoor LED TV by Porsche Design Studio. Well, earlier this week C’SEED announced that one of these technological giants has been installed at the Palais Schönburg, Vienna, Austria (a Baroque castle used for private events, etc.). Amazingly, it looks almost exactly like the renderings from the video we showed you in the introductory post last year. Check out the video below to see what we mean. (Click on C SEED 201 LED TV designed by Porsche Design Group to view the video directly.)
Hidden in the ground and installed in its own silo, a simple button push extends the C SEED 201 to its full height of 15 feet in just 15 short seconds. Once raised, seven silently unfolding panels interlock to form a seamless, weatherproof screen capable of an ultra high resolution in 4.4 trillion radiant colors. This is obviously an amazing piece of technology, but for a reported price* close to that of the new Porsche 918 Spyder ($845,000), I think it’s fairly obvious that we would take the 918. However, if money were no object, we would buy both and pull up to screen to watch it like a drive-in. 🙂
