Porsche and iRacing. Two of the World’s Best Together at Last!

If you’ve been following along here on FLATSIXES.com then you know that video game maker Electronic Arts lost their exclusive hold on Porsche at the end of 2016. Their loss is our gain. Assetto Corsa has already released three new Porsche packs covering some 20+ models (both production and racing). Now, for a New Year’s treat, comes word that the world’s most winning manufacturer in sports car racing is coming to one of the world’s most respected racing simulators, iRacing. To kick off the new partnership, iRacing will create digital models of Porsche’s iconic race cars, beginning with the recently updated 911 GT3 Cup (991 II).

“This is great news for iRacing and for the 65,000 iRacers around the world,” says Kevin Bobbitt, Director of Marketing and Communications for iRacing.com. “Porsche’s success in sports car racing is without parallel, from Le Mans and the Nürburging to Daytona and Sebring. Porsche is the ideal partner for iRacing as we continue developing our sports car and endurance sim racing capabilities.”

The new 911 GT3 Cup is employed by customer sports teams to compete in 20 race series organized by Porsche across the globe, like the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, the GT3 Cup in the USA and the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup – making it the world’s most produced and most used GT race car.
