Watch this Porsche 993 C4S get a meticulous detail job for the first time in over two decades

If you’ve been hanging around this site for a while, you’ll probably know that we used to be called 993C4S, because the founder of the site had a gorgeous example in his own garage. It had a whole lot more than 1100 miles, because around here we actually like to drive our Porsches, but it’s still nice to see what these cars looked like when they were fresh off the assembly line. Without many miles on the odometer, this Speedgelb Aerokit example needed a cleaning for the first time in its life. Pro detailer Larry Kosilla didn’t even put the car on a lift or take the wheels off to avoid any potential for marking the underside of the car or marring a wheel removing the lug nuts.

So what makes this car special? Well, aside from the low mileage, this beautiful example is extremely highly optioned. Not only does it have the full Aerokit package, but the interior is totally decked out from top to bottom with hardback sport seats, CD player, stitched leather everywhere, and white gauge faces among many other options. This is clearly a special 993, and it deserves the white glove treatment. As usual, Larry knows exactly how to preserve a car in whatever condition it needs to be presented in, and makes choices to keep a car as original as possible. While some owners would have chosen a more permanent protective coating, he wanted to use something a little softer to make sure that option was open for the next owner.

It’s really a shame that this car will never be driven the way it was intended to be from the factory, but if a car is simply going to be preserved instead of used, it’s better to see it in this kind of gorgeous detailed condition than coated in a layer of dust at the back of a barn somewhere. I truly hope the next owner uses this car, but given the mileage that seems unlikely. Keep it museum-quality then, and display it for other potential Porsche fanatics to enjoy for decades to come.

For those of you who love the concours circuit, this is a lesson in how to keep a perfect Porsche looking its most perfect-est.
