268 km/h indicated. For those of us who measure in freedom units, that’s the equivalent of 167.5 mph. That’s a seriously impressive number for Porsche’s electric sedan. Remember it wasn’t all that long ago that the average sport sedan couldn’t touch 150 mph. Of course, in today’s power-obsessed market, there are a handful of sedans capable of cracking 200, including the Dodge Charger Hellcat, Aston Martin Rapide S, Bentley Flying Spur W12 S, and Cadillac CTS-V. Porsche’s electric super sedan doesn’t need to hit 200, because honestly it’s nothing more than a bragging right, and Porsche hasn’t ever really been about bragging rights, eh? Even the mega-power Panamera Turbo S e-Hybrid is only geared to run 193 mph.
On the launch of the new Taycan in Germany, Alex with TFL Car took the thing up to its max speed to see how it could handle the big speed. Obviously, being a Porsche, it was stable and calm at speed. While the max speed of the car is much higher than anything you’ll be doing on a regular basis, it’s nice to know that the car can accelerate to that top speed quite quickly.
What do you think? Should the Taycan have been built with a higher top speed, or do you not even care? For the record, the Tesla Model S P100D is limited to 155 mph unless you opt for the “Ludicrous Mode” which gets you 163. Perhaps Porsche was keeping that number in mind after all?

Who cares how fast it can go, 260 plus ks is adequate for a electric car it is not going to be a track car just a vessel for transportation that has no emissions, looks good, handles good, quick off the line and is a Porsche what else could you ask for.
