Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay This Week: Volume 31

We’ve been compiling the best Porsche models on eBay for over a year now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. There is some great new stuff every two weeks, so check back often. We’ve tracked down five more exciting Porsches for you nice people to purchase today, including a rough and ready 356 coupe, a factory lightweight 911, a great deal Turbo, a nice light proper mid-engine sports car, and a Sport Ute with a Stick. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1965 Porsche 356 SC Coupe For Sale

This is the pinnacle of Porsche’s roadcar development on the 356 design. The fantastic SC had everything you’d ever need in a sports car, including 4-wheel disc braking, a relatively powerful 90 horsepower aircooled flat four, excellent steering, and gorgeous design. The good-old-bathtub had been in service for some 17 years by the time this car was produced, the last of its kind. This particular car has seen better days, featuring some rust, a bit of rough paint here and there, an unoriginal engine case, and lots of miles. That’s just how a car like this ought to look at this point. It’s meant to be driven, and this one will continue to be an excellent driver to whoever buys it. This car would be great for long distance touring, around town jaunts, and even the occasional push into daily service if maintained well. There was a time when cars like this were the only car of their owner, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to drive this 356 regularly if you so choose.

2. 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Clubsport For Sale, One Of 22 Imported

The Carrera Clubsport has long been among my favorite 911s. From the factory, the car featured quite a few things removed from the fitment sheet in order to keep the weight down for weekend warriors. This was the trackday special 911 back in 1988, and it was indeed quite special. This car, unfortunately (fortunately?) has not been left as it was from stock. As it says in the listing, “Although this is a genuine CS, it is not for the purists; this car has been thoughtfully and thoroughly modified in the direction Porsche intended, albeit with care taken to minimize any irreversible changes. Already a lightened version of the Carrera when it left Stuttgart, this particular CS, at 2470 lbs with fuel, is almost 300 lbs lighter than the standard Carrera and some 500 lbs lighter than the Turbo. Power is up handsomely too, thanks to the very professional transplant (by Rothsport) of a 3.8 liter VarioRam motor out of a 993. The setup develops 321hp, resulting in some astonishing acceleration in this featherweight car.”

3. 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo For Sale

This 996 Turbo has received quite a few expensive and quality modifications. If you’re looking for a modified Turbo, then you’d likely have to look no further. Priced at only 38 grand, this 911 Turbo has a lot of performance for little cash outlay (in Porsche terms, anyhow). While the prices of 964 and 993 Turbo models skyrocket, the 996 Turbo continues to decline in value. The 996 Turbo is not only a less expensive car, it’s a better car. More power, better handling, quicker, and faster than its predecessors, the 996 Turbo deserves a bit more credit than its currently being given. Get one before the world realizes how good they really are.

This car’s modifications include:

  1. Racing shifter
  2. GT2 wing
  3. Roll bar
  4. Upgraded throttle body
  5. 5 bar fuel pressure regulator and updated injectors
  6. Upgraded bypass valves
  7. KKK 24/26 turbo
  8. billet bypass valves
  9. REVO stage 2 (3 stages from stock to 650 hp)
  10. Silicon boost hoses
  11. RS air intake plenum
  12. Speedtech headers
  13. Fabspeed exhaust 100 cel cats (NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, JUST PASSED EMISSIONS, PASSES EVERY TIME)
  14. Evolution Motorsports Intake
  15. Bilstein coilover kit
  16. Updated MAF
  17. Pioneer entertainment system with navigation, bluetooth and DVD player
  18. Hidden radar jammer and diffuser (I think its a Passport…I remember looking it up and it was a several thousand dollar unit)
  19. OZ ultraleggra racing wheels (amazingly strong, amazingly light)

4. Certified Pre-Owned 2012 Porsche Cayenne V6 Manual For Sale

Whenever a 3-pedal Cayenne comes up for sale, I have to include it in one of these lists, because they are just so strange, unique, and intriguing. Porsche’s workaday Cayenne is still a pretty darn fun car to drive, and with a stick, even more so. While this truck won’t be able to out-hustle a GT3 on your average race track, it’ll certainly beat that same car over a speed hump, towing a trailer, and on gravel roads. If you want to take your Porsche fun away from paved surfaces, this one just might be the one you need. Considering that this car is still new enough and nice enough to have been certified by Porsche’s pre-owned program, it still has warranty left on it. Can’t beat that, can you?

5. 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder For Sale

I’m torn between the Boxster Spyder and the 981 Boxster GTS as to which is my favorite Porsche driving experience. With this car, I might just push the win into the Spyder column. The interior of this one is a gorgeous red/grey combination, and it’s fitted with a far more personally desirable 6-speed manual transmission. Such a spectacular car, kitted almost exactly the way I’d have specified from new. It’s got very few miles and looks as though it is brand new. This one is still parked up in the high range of the Spyder’s sales range at 75 grand, but others that are less amazing are available for less than 60K. The condition and specification of this one might be worth that extra fifteen thousand to you. You decide.
