Matt Farah Drives the 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS

Have you driven a 991.2 with Porsche’s newly turbocharged engine yet? If you haven’t, you really should stop on by your local dealer and try one on for size. You’ll be amazed at how non-turbo like these new turbos are. Sure, I know, how could it every be as good as a normally aspirated engine? What about Turbo lag, won’t it bother me? The truth is, Porsche’s done a remarkable job with the new 991.2 and their biggest engine architecture change since switching from air-cooled to water-cooled. The first time we drove a 991.2 we were pleasantly surprised at what we’ve come to know as Porsche’s new normal; turbo charged engines in even the lowliest of models.

Unlike Matt’s normal “One Take” episodes where the cars are supplied by viewers, this version has press cars supplied by Porsche. No matter, that doesn’t take away from Matt’s ability to convey the feel for the car and how it drives through a constant flow of commentary and details. Rather than simply transcribe what Matt has to say, simply click the play button above and you’ll quickly get a feel for his enthusiasm toward the 911 Carrera 4 GTS. The same kind of enthusiasm we’ve felt each time we’ve driven one.
