The newest bodystyle of 991 offers an excellently framed view of open-air motoring, but that comes at a cost. Is the Targa 4S a good value? How does the extra weight of the mechanically convoluted top mechanism affect the 991’s sublime performance?
Ride along with Tiff as he does his best stereotypically British “It wasn’t made here” impression. Regardless of the reason behind it, Mr. Needell’s review is an utterly pragmatic one, and in the world of Porsche, do we really have time for pragmatism? Buying a Targa 4S is about emotion, about getting out and driving, and about getting your heart pumping. Is it noisy? Maybe. Is it heavier? Definitely. Is it the most gorgeous open-topped 911 in the last twenty years? You bet it is!

Atypical Brit review of a Porsche, filled with sarcasm, criticism and never missing a chance to put a plug in for what a "proper" man's car is-British of course! This from the people who idolize their square, ugly taxis, Singers and Hillmans.
