The New Cayenne Handles Going Off-Road Quite Well

We receive a number of emails from readers wanting to know our opinion on the Porsche Cayenne and if it is truly an off-road capable vehicle. We tell each one of them the same two things: 1. We like the Cayenne so much we bought one for ourselves as a utility vehicle to haul our boat, travel with our dogs and as a test bed for this site. 2. The Porsche Cayenne can handle off-road challenges that would destroy most other vehicles in the same class.

Driving the Cayenne Off-Road

In case you’re wondering, we’re not just embellishing, we know first hand what the Cayenne can do. Besides owning our own, we’ve been to Porsche’s off-road course and tested the Cayenne in extreme conditions. If you need further proof, check out the video below. It starts off a bit slow, but at 1:23 seconds in you’ll see exactly what we’ve experienced ourselves.

In case you’re wondering, the video above is a compilation of the Porsche Performance Drive that took place this year in Central and Eastern Europe as a group of Porsche fans traveled from Chisinau to Bratislava in a convoy of Cayennes, 911s, Caymans and Boxsters.
