Watch This Overlanding Porsche Cayenne Dominate Moab

Hell’s Gate is one of the most difficult obstacles in Moab, a steep slick rock face fit for only the most powerful off-road rigs with excellent tires and competent 4WD systems. Porsche wasn’t messing around when it built the Cayenne, as it was actually fairly off-road capable from the factory, but it certainly didn’t have the talents needed to take on Hell’s Gate, or even some of the less strenuous Moab trails. However, the Porsche-engineered clutched differentials are certainly up to the task of shuffling power to all four wheels, and with a generous lift plus some serious rubber to the road, the Cayenne is an off-road ready monster. This is one spicy pepper!

The owner of the car, who goes by @957RoadTrip on Instagram, recently finished this mild overlanding rig build with this unblemished silver beauty. According to a recent Instagram post, the Porsche is fitted with the following bits to make it a Moab eater.

Current build as it sits:
Thule motion XT XL roof box
Eurowise V2 roof rack with light bar
Eurowise ditch light brackets
Baja designs squadron sports
Trigger six shooter wireless controller
Full weather tech mats
EW 3” lift with 1” subframe spacer
EW tubular front upper control arms
Poly front lower control arm bushings
Alpha Echo 18×9 wheels
Nitto Trail grapplers 33×12.5×18
Also wrapped some things and added side decals

That’s a lot of modifications to make for a Cayenne, but as you can see from the video below, it made a huge difference in not only the aesthetics of the car, but the capability as well. It’s fair to say that most Cayennes won’t ever see a mile of off-road driving, but this old pepper is poppin’. Porsche didn’t have to over-engineer the Cayenne as much as it did, but Porsche is an engineering firm after all. It wouldn’t be a proper P-car without some proper engineering.

Now, I’ve never been much of a Cayenne guy, but I’m seriously considering replicating this build with a nice 955 Turbo. Yeah, that’s what this monster needs is a gob more power and torque from a couple of under-hood snails. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to Craigslist to see what I can make happen.
