You may have seen this build featured on the Hoonigan YouTube Channel a couple of weeks ago, but Larry Chen and Will Roegge have now released a longer version with more Porsche-focussed shenanigans. The new video includes more onboard driving video, more drifty-slidey clips, and a ton of badass supercharger whine audio. Chen and Roegge were invited by Kelly Moss Road & Race to drive their SEMA-build four-wheel-drive 450 horsepower supercharged monster 964 Safari 4. \
“Dude, it sounds like the supercharger is right behind your head”
Having seen this car first hand at the SEMA show back in October, we aren’t surprised that the supercharger is the focal point of this build, it’s massive. The giant blower sits on top of the engine and is driven by a custom pulley setup off of the engine fan drive. The supercharger draws its air basically directly below the rear window, and the back of the blower sits right next to the firewall. It sounds loud in the video, but it probably sounds louder in real life. This is an absolutely nuts build that deserves to be praised. We wish people would do more crazy stuff with their Porsches.
If you like fun, and you like Porsche, you should probably take a few minutes from your day to watch this video. It’s amazing how much fun can be had with a highly-modified Porsche on a frozen lake in the middle of Wisconsin. It’s not exactly a surprise, but it’s a welcome respite from the rigors of everyday life. If you’re already experiencing the mid-week doldrums, this is sure to put a smile on your face.
