Video: Sharkwerks Tuned 997 GT2 Is Mind Warping Fast

Jason Connor, a friend of mine, took a trip to the hills near Santa Cruz to drive one of the most insanely fast Porsches ever built. The Sharkwerks 911 GT2 Phase One is a nearly-800-horsepower car that will blow your mind wide open with how fast it is. The GT2 has always been revered as a bit of a scary ride, with big power and only two driven wheels. The mad scientists at SharkWerks have tossed in a big leap in power, and a bit of fettle with the suspension to handle it. With almost 10-years of advancements made in Ultra High Performance tire technology, the car now features a much more docile driving manner, but is also orders of magnitude faster.

We’ve had a chance to log a few miles behind the wheel of the now-famous Magnus-design sister car to this one, and our feelings were very similar to what Jason says here. It’s a car that conspires to bend your concept of reality. It’s a car that gives you cause to sell some vital organs. It’s a car that will make you curse until you’re blue in the face, and then laugh maniacally for the next week after you give back the keys. It’s that good, but don’t just take our word for it, check out the video below.

  • I am curious re the upgrades: I have a 996 GT2 which is stock except for a cat back exhaust; Is the Sharkwerks car an ECU flash from EVOMS and some bolt on parts?

  • Too bad some reviewers on what was an excellent video(997GT2) until the driver displayed his ignorance of other less offensive adjectives in describing the performance with the ever so common "F-bomb"! I've been in the service and heard 'em all and used too many myself but am a little more selective in what comes out of my mouth so as not to severely shock or disgust other folks no matter what their manner of speech! Are we to think that the continuing way to express our AWE at the extreme performance capabilities of these fine machines can only be expressed by using the "F-bomb"? No wonder our kids from High school down to elementary think it's cool and "grown up" to mimic extremely irresponsible language. I hear it enough without having it on a video of a beautiful Porsche.

I taught vocational Auto Technology for over 30 years and made it known what language would not be acceptable. The $$ never passed through my hands but was collected by the students. We had numerous pizza parties paid for be fines. It was an automatic $2 each time the F-bomb was uttered. Maybe some will think about it as they become more mature! Thanks for listening
