Driven By Urban Dynamics, Porsche Design and Puma Enter Sportswear Partnership

United by motorsport history, and shared values of technological innovation and functional design, Porsche Design and Puma sportswear have entered in to a new partnership. A new line of clothing and shoes jointly developed by the two companies is slated to launch in March, 2019 for the Spring and Summer seasons. The Porsche Design Sportswear Collection features engineered products designed for top performance, and a synergistic approach to performance and lifestyle wear.

Per the brands, the new collection is driven by its own identity, and appeals to clientele expecting uncompromising aesthetics and performance. Like Porsche, Puma has roots in motorsports, with a long history of driving shoes and other clothing. Porsche Design brings its industrial engineering mindset and premium marketplace expertise to the line, while Puma contributes advanced cushioning systems, seam-sealing knits, and lightweight fabrics.

Per Jan Becker, CEO of Porsche Design Group; “With PUMA we have found a qualified partner, who shares the same values related to technological innovation and functional design. We are very much looking forward kickingoff this partnership and to lift the Porsche Design Sportswear Collection to new heights over the following years. The new Spring/Summer 2019 Collection is just the starting point of this
valued partnership.”

The initial collection includes both active wear and sports-infused lifestyle wear. The product range is designed to deliver technology, quality, sophistication, and style serving the needs of the active urban consumer. The brands promise further lines in the future.

The Collection

The new line debuted in Berlin last week, and ranges from polo shirts, to shorts, outerwear, and shoes across a variety of segments. The clothing range is designed to be reactive thanks to extensive use of technology, including Dual Thermo-R, which responds to skin temperature changes, PUMA CELL technology with hybrid and Jamming cushion systems, and breathable evoKNIT materials.

Puma’s familiar rolled-heel driving shoes have been given a Porsche twist, with leather choices evoking Porsche interiors. The line’s more active options feature unique materials, revamped lacing to control pressure across the top of the foot, and handsome design designed to visually unify the collection.

The other products in the line share the brands’ values of aesthetics and functionality for the active urbanite, granting a high degree of versatility for the wearer. Pricing for the new line has not yet been released, and the new Porsche Design-Puma products will go on sale in March, 2019.
