A long time ago we took a poll asking what was the best car movie ever made that involved a Porsche? That got me to thinking about car chases involving Porsches so I started surfing around on YouTube this weekend and found the video you see below. It’s a clip from Against All Odds featuring Jeff Bridges (in the 911) and James Wood (in the 308) as they race down West Sunset Boulevard between Roxbury Drive and South Beverly Glen Boulevard and along Holmby Hills. While it looks like they were racing on an open street, the production team actually closed the road in 15-minute intervals in order to safely shoot the scene. Apparently, when the film was first released, the race scene was so popular that many audience members were returning to see the film several times just to watch it again. I’ve never seen the movie, but now that I’ve seen the chase I think I might grab it on Amazon Prime.

So, what’s your favorite Porsche chase scene and why? Let us know in the comments below!

  • The 1987 movie No Man's Land has two very nice driving scenes with 911.
Also a 60's or early 70's movie with Michael Caine on a Montreal and a nice sporty lady in a wonderfull 911 2.4 Targa in a scene that inspired James Bond scene between DB5 and Ferrari driven by ONATOP.

  • "The Bridge" a 2 season tv series had a nice '76 or '77 911 that had a lot of air time....just looked it up and it's on HULU. My wife would call me weird for rewinding the car scenes vs the nude scenes. If you have to explain it to someone, then they'll never get it.

  • How can everyone forget one of the best ever... The scene in Bad Boys when Martin Lawerence is driving Will Smith's 911 Turbo while racing a 427 Cobra to beat it to the small opening in the concrete wall. Two of my favorite cars of all time.

  • I remember "KING OF THE HILL " , with Harry Hamlin .......He was a Canyon racer with a tubbed out 356 / speedster ... racing against various cars [ during the day he was a technician at a Porsche shop and at night got his kicks racing in the hills of Mulholland drive .] Dennis Hopper was also in this film as an old washed up canyon racer. great "B" movie.

  • THEres a bond movie which name escapes me where the villain, who has a glass eye, races bond in tight streets of an Italian coastal town w multiple levels. Said villain drives an 84 911. Black w mirrored windows. He also wears a black helmet w a mirrored visor. All of his goons, also in the chase drive M3s. And James has his Austin.
I can’t for the life of me remember the title of the movie. I was almost sure this guy was Le Chifre, but maybe not. I do remember he was a right hand man to the main villain.
