With this morning’s announcement of Rennsport Reunion V we started thinking about the past events. As most of you probably know, the first Rennsport Reunion was held at Lime Rock Park in July of 2001. The brainchild of the late Bob Carlson, Rennsport Reunion has quickly grown into the premier Porsche event for owners and enthusiasts alike. Normally held every three years (Rennsport Reunion V will take place after a 4-year hiatus) each event is commemorated with a poster featuring original artwork. These posters, available for sale at the event, are fantastic keepsakes. These posters, that aren’t already, are destined to become collectible in the very near future.

Really... Looks like they were pretty lazy in the RSR5 poster..... :-(
As I was looking at the posters and counting off the interval of three years apart it got me wondering where was the
year 2014 and if it was going to be held in 2015 why wasn't it taken place on the East coast!! I thought the object of
the reunion was to be spread out every three years at different locations namely Daytona and the West Coast,
Any answers??
No official answers, only speculation on our part.
It's a pretty big event to pull off. Porsche only has so many resources and they were/are all pretty busy with the launch of new models, the return to Le Mans, opening new experience centers, etc. Timing probably just wasn't right. Combine that with 60th anniversary of e PCA next year and I think it's reasonable speculation
As to east coast vs. West coast. Probably similar reasons. It's easier to do it in A venue you're familiar with. More importantly, California continues to be Porsche single largest domestic market by a wide margin. More cars = more people = better event.
We've made our hotel reservations. Have you?
60th anniversary of PCA next year - and the fact that PCA Parade was held in Monterey this year, both had an impact I'm sure.
First 3 years were held at Daytona and the info says the last Daytona Rennsport sold 3500 tickets. Rennsport IV at Laguna Seca sold 40,000 tickets. I don't there was much doubt where V was going to be.
woohoo, house booked!
