First and foremost, the best reason of all to be in Hershey, PA on the 20th of April is the largest Porsche centric swap meet in the nation, possibly the world. The swap opens early on Saturday morning, so be sure you get there before sun-up to get the deals, and keeps going into the early afternoon, or when all of the parts are gone.
Related activities during the weekend include a Porsche-Only autocross on Sunday for you to prove your meddle (and that of your Porsche), as well as a Porsche-Only people’s choice “concours” car show during the swap meet. Winners of either event are eligible to receive trophies and “swag”, so why not have a little fun and enjoy the event.
Reason #2: The AACA Museum’s “Porsche Style & Design”
The AACA Museum, now in its tenth year, is playing host to an extraordinary collection of Porsche automobiles. From an early Porsche designed Volkswagen to the newest 991 cabriolet, the assembled vehicles are far reaching and all encompassing. Vintage and modern racing cars, aircooled and wasserboxer, the rarities and those more pedestrian, this exhibition has them all.

The museum hours are 9am to 5pm every day, and the exhibit runs through April 28th, so be sure you see it before it is gone.
Reason #3: An Evening with Karl Ludvigsen
Guests of the AACA Museum on the evening of April 19th will be welcomed with an array of German food and drink. The atmosphere will exude Porsche, as the “Style & Design” exhibit encroaches on the celebration.
After the initial reception, legendary Porsche scholar Karl Ludvigsen will be giving a presentation based upon his newest book “Porsche – Origin of the Species”. One of the earliest production Porsche models, a Gmund Coupe currently owned by Jerry Seinfeld, served as the book’s inspiration. Mr. Ludvigsen will also be signing copies of the book after the presentation, as well as other books from his dozens of published works. Copies of “Excellence Was Expected” and “Origin”, as well as other Ludvigsen titles will be available for purchase at the event.
“An Evening with Karl Ludvigsen” is a special, ticketed event that kicks off the swap meet weekend. Tickets are $85 dollars for the evening, and are available online at the AACA Museum website or by calling the museum at 717-566-7100 ext. 100. If you are going to be in Hershey for the swap meet, you should definitely plan to arrive a night early and spend it at the museum. Reason #4: Sell your Porsche, or buy another one in the Car Corral
For the low price of $25 dollars, buyers can enter their cars to be parked in the Corral for sale. Hundreds of captive buyers, dealers, and collectors will be trawling through the lot, seeking their next (or first) of Zuffenhausen’s best. No pre-registration is required, simply ask to be included when you arrive.

They forgot to mention that the people there are genuine Porsche people, all fun all the time.
I love this event, the best thing that ever happened to Porsche owners besides the cars. I used to be a regular at the event at both Round Top and Hershey when they were the weekend of Spring Carlisle. This became a more serious consideration as our lives get more involved ( grandchildren and business)and time goes faster as we age. The two events make a great week in Pa for the folks that have to travel to get there. Now I have to make a tough choice each year. I will miss this dearly!
