All Of The Porsches Of SEMA 2019

Going into SEMA 2019, I knew that there was going to be at least one Porsche that was worth seeing. I’ve been following the Baja 911 build on social media for the better part of two years, and to say I was excited to see it in person would be an understatement. This car absolutely knocked it out of the park in terms of fit, finish, and functionality. It looks like it will leap over sand dunes and crawl over desert shrubbery with ease, but still looks every bit the Porsche that it always has been.

So much fabrication went into this build that I’m truly impressed that it only took two years. Having started with the least desirable of all 964s, the Carrera 4 Cabriolet, means that it’s much more rowdy now than anything Porsche built when this was new.

The biggest surprise, however, was this 935-style build from Bisimoto and EV West. No, you didn’t read that wrong, this 911 has a monster electric motor slung into the engine compartment. There’s a good chance that this car is quite a bit quicker around the track than even a real 935 would be.

This back end will never be boring, and the slightest peek of batteries slung way down low is just a little teaser of this car’s rad capabilities.

Yokohama had a couple interesting Porsches on display in its gorgeous red and black livery. Travis Pastrana’s twice Pikes Peak class winning GT4 Clubsport and a GT3 Cup.

Speaking of Pikes Peak, the second-placed overall car from this year, built by BBi Autosport, was presiding over the Optima Batteries booth.

And Magnus Walker is single-handedly driving up the value of old four-cylinder 914s with his newest build.

I spied a couple 992s at SEMA, including this beauty with Champion wheels and H&R springs.
