First we were given the date, then we learned what city Luft 5 would be held in. Today, we finally know where in Torrance, CA all those wonderful air-cooled Porsches will assemble, Ganahl Lumber South Bay.
Location Holds Relevance To Porsche History Buffs
Recently opened at 2600 Del Amo Blvd in Torrance, CA, the site of Luftgekühlt 5 is a 16+ acre facility owned by California’s oldest lumber company, Ganahl Lumber. Opened in 1884 by Austrian immigrants Christian and Frank Ganahl, this year’s Luftgekühlt venue holds special relevance for for Porsche history buffs. Back in 1944 Porsche moved manufacturing from Stuttgart to a series of wooden sheds at the site of a former saw mill in Gmünd Austria. It was at that location in Gmünd where the world was first introduced to air-cooled Porsches in the forms of the 1947 Porsche 360 Cisitalia GP followed by the 1948 Porsche 356/1 Roadster prototype and subsequently the 356/2 Coupe and Convertible. By selecting a lumber company started by Austrian immigrants, Luftgekühlt 5 recognizes and honors Porsche’s air-cooled history and heritage.
Don’t forget, air-cooled parking may have sold out in just 15 hours, but general admission tickets are still available at http://luft5.eventbrite.com.

Yup

Hey, Larry,
All are welcome to attend and enjoy and general admission is definitely still available. Parking registration, however, is all sold out and was reserved for air-cooled only as far as we know.
