Car shows are usually pretty terrible. Everything these days is an over-dramatized build show, or three middle-aged white guys trying poorly to replicate the magic of Top Gear. What if there was a car show, all about Porsche, which was actually fun to watch? A travel show based around cars and culture and community? Hey, it’s here! Porsche Road Trip with John Polnik is the new show you need to see, and it’s 100% free to watch on Pluto TV.
Join host John Polnik as he motors across the U.S. in his old 911. You’ll see visits with automotive enthusiast celebrities like Sir Mix A Lot and Rod Emory, plus treks to famed Porsche events like Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca. You can tag along as JP explores the hidden places, people, and cars that bring our little section of the world together. The reason Porsche enthusiasm is so great is because of the people, and this show explores that theme endlessly. Plus, you know, one of the episodes is about me and my terrible old 912E!
You can watch all eight episodes now on Pluto TV on demand, or you can catch the primetime double feature premier on Adam Corolla’s Chassy channel Friday, May 28th from 7PM to 11PM Eastern. The first four episodes will run consecutively, then repeat from 9PM.
While the show was seriously delayed thanks to coronavirus, it’s an evergreen topic that will be worth watching again and again for the rest of time. I really hope that my pal JP gets the opportunity to keep making this show for years to come. If you like cars and you liked Anthony Bordain’s travel shows like No Reservations, you’ll love Porsche Road Trip. Go check it out, watch all the episodes, and then tweet at Adam Corolla asking for more, because it’s a cool show and we definitely need more modern car shows for modern Porsche fans.
